Discover the Secret of Enlightenment

The Enlightenment is not a free gift of The Almighty, that can be bestowed on anyone. It cannot be attained by just anyone, until and unless The Almighty wills it. In fact the Prophets own uncle Abu Talib died an unbeliever. The Holy Prophet tried in every possible way , to convince him, but failed. It is said that The Almighty chooses only some people. It is entirely up to Him to give the enlightenment of thought to whom He pleases. If one doesn’t have these thought , then no matter how hard a person tries, it would not be effective. Likewise, in the case of Prophet’s uncle also, though he was most close to the Prophet, he did not accept Islam.

The prophets sent to the world have not come to settle down and engage themselves in worldly affairs. They have been sent to show us the path of enlightenment . Those who believe in and follow their teachings have certainly found enlightenment . And it is guaranteed  the whosoever follows the last Prophet , would definitely walk in the way of truth. We should try to find the way of Truth before it is too late, or before death over-takes us. Then it will be too late to request, and we will have to spend our eternity in the for of Hell. It is up to us now, to decide what to do with our fate. If you want to walk in the path of Truth, the path of the Prophet , then start searching for it now. Pray to the The Almighty Allah to give you guidance , so that you can follow his ways.

Earlier we have discussed how Hazrat Umar, who wanted to kill the Prophet, got enlightenment on his way to the Prophet’s house, and became a close Companion of the Prophet instead. Such are the ways of the Lord! After attaining such an enlightenment, one feels blessed with the Divine love ofThe Almighty, and only wants to obey His Commands.
Once , the Prophet Muhammad was travelling through Mount Safa. He met a man called Abu Jahal. This man started abusing the Prophet and Islam but the Prophet did not react to this and kept quiet. But this was  witnessed by a maid-servant  who related it to the Prophet’s uncle Hazrat Hamza flew into a rage  and went in search of Abu Jahal . He found him in Kabah and started hitting him on the head . Some of Abu Jahal’s friends saw this and came to his aid but Abu Jahal asked them not to retaliate, and said that it was his fault, as he had abused the Prophet Muhammad.

People started asking Hazrat Hamza about  why and how he had accepted the new faith of his nephew. He replied that  he had faith in Muhammad that he is the Prophet of Allah. But people and satan kept on pestering him as to inquire whether he did the right thing in accepting this new religion. Therefore Hazrat Hamza started doubting it. He was so disturbed that he could not sleep at all on that night. So he prayed to The Almighty saying “Allah, if Islam is the right path, then make my heart cool and calm, if not, then help me to escape from this path.”   After this, he felt better, and all the doubts and confusion disappeared. The next day he went to the Prophet and related the whole thing to him. The Prophet prayed Allah to grant him the firmness of faith. Then Hazrat Hamza declared in front of everyone, “ I do here by declare, that you are the genuine Prophet of Allah, and you can lead us in the right direction.”

When an individual discoveredThe Almighty, one big ray (Noor) touches his heart, and he feels tremendous peace in his heart, body and mind. The whole body starts shivering, he cries with love and fear ofThe Almighty. After this incident he wants to die and survive forThe Almighty alone. He is blessed. Then all his works and deeds are solely forThe Almighty. This is his true destiny. In this particular situation, his or her faith about Hell and Heaven penetrates into the heart. 

Hazrat 'Umar (R.A). of whom all the Muslims are justly proud, was most adamant in opposing the Prophet (pbuh) before he embraced Islam. One day, the Quraysh in a meeting called for someone to volunteer for  the assassination of the Prophet (pbuh). 'Umar offered himself for this job. With a sword drawn in his hand, he set out straight away on this sinister errand. On his way he met Sa'ad bin Abi Waqqas of the Zuhrah clan. Sa'ad enquired: "Whither! Umar" Umar replied, "I am going to finish Muhammad." Saad said,  "But don’t you see that Banu Hashim, Banu Zuhrah and Banu Abde Manuf are likely to kill you in retaliation ?" Umar said to him , “ It seems that you have also renounced the religion of your forefather. Let me settle with you first.” Saying this, Umar drew out his sword, they were about to start a duel when Saad (R.A.) said, " You had better first set your house in order because your sister and brother in law both have also accepted Islam as their religion. Hearing this, Umar flew in to a rage and ran towards his sister's house. The door of the house was bolted from inside and both husband and wife were receiving lessons in the Qur'an from Hazrat Khabbab (with whom Allah is pleased). Umar knocked at the door and shouted for his sister to open it. Hazrat Khabbab R.A. hearing the voice of Umer, hid himself in some inner room, forgetting to take the manuscript  of the Holy Qur'an with him. When the sister opened the door, Umar hit her on the head saying; " O , enemy of yourself! You too have renounced your religion?" he then went inside and inquired, what were they doing? And who was the stranger he heard  talking to?” His brother in-law replied that they were talking to each other. Umar then said to him, “Have you then also forsaken the creed of your forefather and gone over to the new religion ?” The brother in law replied, " But if the new religion is better and true?" Beside himself with rage and fell on him, pulling his beard and beating him most savagely. When the sister intervened he smote her so violently on the face, that it began to bleed most profusely. She burst out; " Umar we are beaten only because we have become Muslims. But we are determined to die as a Muslim. You are free to do whatever you like." At this. Umar cooled down and felt a bit ashamed. Then his eyes fell on the pages of the Qur'an left behind by Hazrat Khabbab.  He was about to pick it up when his sister said “ No, you are unclean and no unclean person can touch the script." He insisted, but the sister was adamant to allow him to touch the script unless he takes a bath. ' Umar at last gave in. He washed his body and then began to read the script'. It was Surah 'Taha'. He started from the beginning of the ‘Surah’, and he was a changed man altogether when he came to the verse; " Lo! Indeed I am Allah. There is none worthy of worship save Me. So serve me and establish Salat(Namaz) for My remembrance." Then he said ; " Alright, take me to Muhammad” On hearing this Hazrat Khabbab RA came out from inside and said; " O,'Umar' glad tidings for you. Yesterday(on Thursday night) the Prophet(pbum) prayed to Allah, O, Allah strengthened Islam with either Umar or Abu Jehal, whomsoever Thou likens”. It seems that his prayer has been answered in your favour." Umar then went  to the Prophet (Pbuh) and embraced Islam on a Friday morning. Umar's conversion to Islam was a terrible blow to the morale of the unbelievers, but the Muslims were few in number and the whole country was against them.The disbelievers intensified their efforts for the complete annihilation of Muslims and the extinction of Islam. With Umar (with whom Allah is pleased) on their side, the Muslims now started saying their prayer in the mosque of Mecca  (Haram)

This is the Umar (with whom Allah is pleased) who attained such a height in spirituality that he became the second Caliph of Islam. On one occasion Hazrat Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "If prophet-hood was to be continued, then Allah would appointed Umar as a Prophet."

During the Prophet's childhood, his uncle once took him to Syria on business. In Syria Hazrat Abu Talib’s business party met a renowned Christian priest (Buhyra). When this Priest saw the Prophet Muhammad, he recognized him from his description (although at that time the Prophet had not yet received his prophethood: he did not receive it till the age of 40) as it was written in the Bible (Inzil) and The Prophet Jesus had disclosed many things about Prophet Muhammad’s arrival . Seeing him, he acknowledged him as the last Prophet and by holding his hands, said “ He is the leader of all the prophets, he is the most important man in the Universe, The Almighty has sent him as a blessing to the entire human beings.” Then they  asked the priest how he knew that the Prophet was going to come there? He replied “ Where ever he turned, I observed  many changes  taking place in the surroundings  and I have also seen the seal of the Prophet on his back. He then invited Hazrat Abu Talib and his party for a meal. When they reached the priest's dwelling place, the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) went away somewhere, so the Priest asked: "Where is that young boy? The invitation was really meant for him. The Prophet came back after a short while. The Priest noticed that when the Prophet came back ,   clouds gave  shadow to him, and he  seated himself outside under the sun,  a tree immediately extended its branches to give him shelter. Everyone saw this happen. Then he said to the Prophet's uncle: "Take care of your nephew. He is the last Prophet. The miracle of the tree has explained everything” Then he said “ I swear by God if the Jews in Syria see this Prophet they will kill him, so take him home now, don’t take him to Syria they are looking for him.  Then the priest said that if they lived on until he received his prophet hood, he would come to his assistance, but he feared that he would not survive till that date, so he bore witness that he was the last Prophet of The Almighty and embraced Islam. At times, when the Prophet used to go walking before the period of his prophet hood, the very stones used to cry aloud: "You are the Prophet ofThe Almighty!" And whenever he used to go out in the sun, the clouds would give him shade.
