Qualities of a dai’ee
(Communicators of Dawah)
- You are eligible for giving Dawah, if you have faith in Allaah only not on government officials, rich and influential people. Allaah’s help is always with the weak and needy.
- You must be clean mentally and physically.
- Be content in whatever situation you are in.
- Be patient.
- Do not envy. Allaah is the Giver of all mankind.
- Do not talk unnecessarily.
- Be loyal and trustworthy.
- Pray two Rakats every day, so that you will be free of jealousy and greed. Be faithful, and fulfill the promises you have made.
- Do not taunt and tease others.
- it is better to listen, than talk endlessly.
- Do not repay evil with evil. Repay it with good instead.
- Always think twice before you speak.
- Be soft spoken, and avoid all harshness.
- Follow the ways of the Prophet (PBUH) in everything you do.
- Do not be proud. Allaah despises a proud heart. Be humble and gentle.
- Cultivate a friendship first, before inviting the person to Islam.
- Always act in accordance to your deeds.
- In adverse situations, act with a cool head. Think carefully, be calm and handle the situation in a proper way.
- Stand by your believes, no matter what.
- Always turn to Allaah, when you are in pain and distress.
- Don’t think others inferior.
- By doing service to others, you will greatly aid the speed of Dawah.
- Do not be proud.
- Work whole-heartedly, and with all your energy.
- Do not hesitate to ask, if you do not know something. That way you will make fewer mistakes.
- Think about the Day of Judgment always, and prepare yourself for it. It is also your duty to warn others about it.
- Seek the company of learned and religious people. You will learn a lot from them.
- If we only know the benefits of praying, we would be praying the whole day!
- Enlightenment cannot be achieved in the pursuit of material enjoyments. It can be achieved only when we devote ourselves to Allaah.
- The Holy Qur’an gives enlightenment only to those who search for it sincerely.
- During the Last Sermon of the Prophet sws, he invited the disbelievers and enemies of Islam, and many of them converted, and some became his close Companions.
- Share your knowledge with others and always go in search of more knowledge.
- Do not follow any strange customs. Make sure the law of Islam approves it off, and follow them accordingly. Always ask for the opinion of the learned people.
- If you have any grudge against your wife, sort out the problem with patience and understanding. Do not leave the problems unsolved.
Remember that you cannot have your way all the time.
- Treat your relatives kindly.
- Ask mercy from Allaah every day.
- Only repentance is not enough. We must reform too.
- Keep your thoughts away from evil, and fear Allaah.
